Silly Girl

TWO PACI'S!

Babies and Birthdays

It has been nonstop company around here, but we love it! Actually, I couldn’t have done it without the help of my mom. Michaels parents have also been here to visit, so little miss thang has gotten all kinds of attention and Graham’s bottom hasn’t touched the ground. We have also been blessed with yummy meals from our friends in our Sunday School class. I hate worrying about dinner anyway (many nights it is a bowl of cereal or popcorn) so it has been so nice to be fed. First all, Aunt Karen came to celebrate her birthday with us. Happy Birthday Aunt Karen! We enjoyed playing with you and meeting Miss Daisy Mae!

He's Home!

Graham Michael Harrell arrived Oct. 1, 2008 at 1:46 pm weighing in at 10 lbs and 22 1/2 inches long.
Ok, so maybe I was in denial and I really was just THAT big! Now, I can understand a little bit more about why people were asking me if I was having twins. Here I am outside the hospital.

My delivery went great and very fast...thank the lord! After being at the Dr. on Tuesday, I knew I was getting very close. In the middle of the night I was beginning to think that maybe my water was leaking. My contractions were not consistent, so for that reason I did not want to go to the hospital. Finally, at about 5 am I call the Dr. to ask about this "water breaking thing." She suggested that I go on in. I waited several hours but did not want to go. But even my crying fit did not stop Michael and my mom from telling me that I didn't have a choice, that I was going to the hospital. Even after arriving at the hospital my contractions were still very irregular, and they were not sure if I would stay. Once again I declared that I was leaving and going home. After checking me a short time later the nurse said I was definitely staying and the Dr. was coming to break my water. I was dilated to 7 when she came in around 12:30 to do so and it was after that I really started hurting. The nurse said I could walk around for about 45 minutes and that she would check me again. After only about 15 minutes she came in and I told her I was hurting really bad and that I didn't know if I could do it (without any drugs). She told me I could and would check on me in about 30. I knew at that point I would not make it that long. The baby nurse came in to get my fingerprints and signature and I told her to get Rosie (my nurse). Rosie came in and I told her I needed to push. She told me to get on the bed. I felt like I couldn't because my labor was in my back and it hurt to lie down. Again she yelled for me to "Get on the bed, We are having a baby!" She called all the nurses and for the Dr. She literally came running down the hall and it was only a few minutes later that baby Graham arrived. They all kept talking about what a "Whopper" he is and how "huge" he is. The Dr. was so excited to see how much he weighed. The nurses said they didn't have time to get the scales in so she went and got it herself.

We have been blessed beyond belief and I am so thankful to have such an amazing family. Once again, Michael was such a trooper. He didn't know whether to "rub my back, don't rub my back", "fan me, don't fan me", "talk to me or shut up." I am sure he is glad Graham came fast too!:) Seriously, there is no other person I can imagine by my side. He is an amazing father and I am so proud to have him as my husband. I also don't know what we would have done without the grandparents here to take care of Lila. It was so nice to know that Lila was getting all kinds of extra attention and love since we could not be there. All my fears of worrying about her with the new baby are gone out the window. She has been amazing and loves to kiss and love on her "baby boy". We just have to make sure that all that love doesn't consist of poking out his "eyes" and honking his nose. I also am pretty certain that she knows how much we still love her too and hasn't acted jealous of him...yet.
So now it is back to worrying if he is getting enough to eat, sleep, etc. AAHH..it never ends.
These sleepless nights will soon pass too, right? I can't complain too much because these are the sweet cheeks I am getting to hold and love and kiss on, even when he is screaming. By the way...the boy has a pair of lungs on him!!

BBH Update

Hopefully this will be the last "Update" before I get to post pictures of my precious baby boy. I went to the Dr. today and I am dilated to 4, fully thinned out with a bulging bag of water. She was ready to send me on over to the hospital, but I want to just wait and go into labor naturally. I am nervous, excited, anxious, sad, happy,......AAHH!!
Say a prayer!!
Here we are at the last Dr.'s visit.

Panic

I got on tonight to write about how 1 week ago I went to the Dr. and she told me I would not make it through the week, but alas...baby boy is still in the big ole belly.
However, I got a little distracted when I looked down as I was typing to see this!!!

My diamond...my perfect, flawless diamond (to me) was GONE!!! I screamed at the top of my lungs and Michael was at the top of the steps in no time. That in itself is a miracle, as he usually just thinks I am being a drama queen about something so he usually doesn't move too fast! He said he thought my water had broken. Anyway, he looks at my ring and notices that 2, count them 2 prongs were completely broken. Just 2 weeks ago, Michael noticed that I had broken a prong and we took it in to be fixed. They rebuilt all 4 prongs. Now I am scared! I am crying hysterically that I can't even see to look. I have been everywhere today and just in the last 30 minutes had been in the deep freezer, to the bathroom, in every room in the house, plus I had been walking around outside on the deck. Well, thank goodness the Good Lord gave one of us a decent set of eyes, because my amazing husband spotted my diamond on the kitchen floor right in front the sink. I still CANNOT believe we found it. I just new it was gone. Michael was so sweet in telling me that it was ok and that is was just a stone, but I knew inside he was thinking about just how much that "stone" cost. I mean, we already lost money in the stock market today, why not more?!!? (kidding)
I know it really is just a stone and there are so many more important things in life, but I am still super happy that my ring is back safe and sound with me!

Tori Spelling?!?! Seriously?

There is nothing worse than being told that you look like someone you just don't think is very attractive. Just yesterday and today I was told that I look like TORI SPELLING and that they had to do a double take!! I am hoping that it is just the pregnancy and the fact that I have had to wear my glasses the past few days due to this stupid eye infection. I have never been a big Tori fan, but the fact that she left her husband for Dean and he left his wife, 10 year old son, and adopted 3 year daughter for her doesn't help. I know, I shouldn't judge, but it does turn me off even more and I think that is why I don't find her very attractive. I have been guilty of watching her show though and I told Michael to shoot me if I ever waddled around like she does while pregnant. Well, I am eating those words now because I feel like I have technically "waddled" this week. I am hoping that the people that told me that think she is beautiful! :) But please, even if you really really think I do, don't tell me I look like Tori Spelling. I liked the days where I was called Britney a lot better (in her sweet and innocent time of course.)
Oh, and also for the record.... one more time. I am just having ONE! Not twins, or even triplets. Please people..I am not that big!

Ok, there is your crazy hormonal pregnancy rant for the week! :)

Just a glimspe...

I wish you all could see what I wake up to each morning. Every day is a
gift. Here is a glimpse of the little blessings we have been given.
