What's in a name?

I know my given name is Kelly, but the last 20 months I have been known as "mommy". Well, technically Lila has only been saying some form of Mommy for about a year now. But Michael and I have referred to each other as mommy and daddy, even when talking to our animals, for years.
Wednesday, Lila up and decided that I was no longer "mommy" but "Kellwee". She first said it when were upstairs and she wanted to go down. It went something like this: "Kellwee down!" Then at lunch when she was finished, she said to me with her finger pointed up in the air, "Kellwee, wipe it."

On Thursday my mom came in to stay with me and help me with the kids while Michael is gone skiing. I hosted a baby shower today at my house, so I needed an extra set of hands while trying to prepare. Anyway, the point of my story is this. Lila is great at calling all of her grandparents their names, except for my mom, who goes by grandmother. Lila picked up from an early age that me and all my sisters call her "mom".so Lila's name for her became "Ma". Well, Ma is no longer after this visit. She is officially "Grandmother" now! I think Lila called her ma only once before trying a few times until she perfected grandmother. So for all those people that think being called Grandmother is too hard for babies to say, I have proof from my 20 month old that it is not. Yep, this week we have the loss of one name and the addition of a new one.

Oh, and just for an update: I am back to being mommy again! Yeah!

Have I told you lately....

How much I love this smile?

For the past 4 1/2 months, this little guy has made my heart melt. Well, ok, so the first 2 months he mainly spent his time sleeping and eating, but he still stole my heart. For instance, when it was like he couldn't get close enough to me and would practically be eating my chin. And how he would just curl up in my arms and gaze up at me. The past two months he has really come alive. He loves his sister, even though she sometimes makes him cry, and he really loves mommy and daddy!

Don't get me wrong, I love this smile too, (Let's remember that Lila is in the "No, Mommy" stage right now!)

but there is something about this gummy grin that thinks mommy can do no wrong that just gets me.

Happy Valentine's Day

Boy, have we had a rough week of LOVE! Lila started running a fever Tuesday night, so I took her to the Dr. and yep...ear infection. They put her on antibiotics. She did not sleep well and was up multiple times during the night. I felt like she was not getting any better, but she had only had 2 doses of medicine. When she woke up from her nap Thursday, her eyes were totally swollen. I started freaking out, as I was afraid it was an allergic reaction to the medicine. I called the Dr., but they thought it was just the cold moving to her eyes. That night she was up ALL night and still running a fever. At 1:30 in the morning when her eyes were totally swollen shut I called the triage nurse. Again, she thought it was just the cold and said it would have to run its course. In the meantime, Graham was up several times in the night. Luckily, Michael stayed home with us Friday morning. I went to the grocery store because we were having our friends from Asheville coming in to visit. I was so worried about Lila getting them sick. That afternoon, Lila was STILL running a fever so I knew that something just wasn't quite right. I called the Dr. and again and she said it sounded like the anitbiotic wasn't working! Oh my..I feel like the worst mom in the world. After actually getting antibiotics in her that worked, it was amazing how quickly she felt better. I should have known when she was on the first antibiotic when she was only getting worse that something wasn't right. When I took her in they said that her ear was just on fire. Poor thing. I will say, we saw a new Dr. who I absolutely LOVED! Maybe because she told me how bright Lila was. I mean, who doesn't love to hear that about their child?!? :)
Here is our pitiful little girl:
(Yes, we are still wearing our Christmas PJ's.) Don't judge, they still fit and are cute!

The Kachilo's made it in late Friday night and Lila actually woke up and played with the boys for a while before we made her go back to sleep.
On Saturday the kids played and made Valentine's cookies while we got ready for our date night. We owe a BIG thank you to Keegan who stayed with all four kids while we went out. Graham would not take his bottle or let her put him down without screaming. I think he finally cried himself to sleep!
Here is Carey holding Graham. He is sporting his red socks in honor of Valentine's Day! :)

Here we are at the Predators game. We had a great time! The Preds won after going into overtime and a shoot out! We were happy to spend our LOVE night with some great friends.

We did decide to have our own family celebration on Sunday. Lila was still not feeling well and neither was Graham, (Note: that is why he is MIA from the pictures) but here are my little heartbreakers.

As you can see, Lila wasn't much in the Valentine's spirit at first. She finally mustered up a smile for us.

Happy Valentine's Day all!

Is that a THUMB I see?

Why yes it is!

HELP! Graham has discovered his thumb. Actually, my friend Susan told me the second day of his life that he was a thumb sucker. I thought there was NO WAY. Well, the other night he woke up and started to stir. By the time I got into his room, he had found his thumb and plopped it right into his mouth and was going to town sucking on it. He went right back to sleep. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Should I just let him do it or replace it with the paci? I can take a paci away, but not the thumb!

Bathing Beauties

This was Graham and Lila's first bath together. Graham isn't too sure what to think about it, but Lila loved it! She loved taking her cup and pouring water on Graham. She also enjoyed splashing splashing splashing, which he didn't like so much! :)

Stroller Ride

Why oh why did I not get this stroller 4 months ago?1?!? I could have resolved so many issues. For one, my back might not hurt so bad from carrying/almost dropping/sometimes strangling a kid on one hip and carrying/banging into everything a car seat in the other arm. Two, I hopefully will no longer leave in a sweat from every place I go from doing the above, and three, I won't dump the entire contents of my purse and diaper bagS in the middle of the parking lot. Who knows...I might actually get somewhere on time now! I love this thing. The kids can face each other, sit back to back, both face me, or both face out. It is so super easy to use and they love it. It even has little handles for the older kids to hang on to while walking. Lila loves to help push and we have had many battles over her wanting to push the single stoller that she could not reach, so now she can help while walking. It finally warmed up enough for us to go outside, however by the time we made it out, the sun was starting to set and it was getting cool again. Never the less, we ventrued out anyway.

Super Six Super Bowl!

I love these girls! They are my Super Six and I was lucky to get to watch ( ok, so we didn't really watch)the Super Bowl with them. It was more like eat, talk, laugh and eat some more! They even have included Lila as part of the girls...AAWW! These are my favorite picture taken friends ever. We usually have 6 cameras out taking random pictures, setting the timer, and being goofy.

We did watch the 3D commercial. Emily was super confused. I wonder why...check out her glasses! :) Kelly J. was just too interested in her wonderful chocolate pudding dessert (I can't blame her) to care about the glasses. And Lila...sweet Lila LOVED the glasses. She even snuck every pair she could get her hands on into the diaper bag before we left.

Lila was super excited about getting to take pictures with the BIG girls! She loved how we would all gather behind the cameras and then take off running before the timer went off. We tried this once without her and it totally hurt her feelings. I didn't really think she would understand that we were leaving her out, but OH MY...the drama. She was pitiful. Needless to say, we did a few extra "timer" poses to make up for it. She had a great time, as you can see!

Lila can't wait for Baby Brody's arrival! (Actually, Graham is more excited.)

Lila loved the food. As you can see, she was WAY more interested in it than taking a picture with me. She wanted "mo chaiwies"( more cherries) and "mo fruit".

Here is our little fam...

This handsome little boy is 4 MONTHS OLD TODAY!! sniff sniff. He is super dooper cute and sweet! He loves his mommy and daddy and anyone that will talk to him. He is such a happy boy. I don't think I could do it if he wasn't. He is so patient for mommy while she is trying to get Lila ready and loaded everyday and he even waits patiently for his milk. I am SO blessed!

And Last, but not least....
HANDSTANDS:

Uhh...not quite.

Almost there...

SUCCESS!

Just a glimspe...

I wish you all could see what I wake up to each morning. Every day is a
gift. Here is a glimpse of the little blessings we have been given.
