Have I told you lately....

How much I love this smile?

For the past 4 1/2 months, this little guy has made my heart melt. Well, ok, so the first 2 months he mainly spent his time sleeping and eating, but he still stole my heart. For instance, when it was like he couldn't get close enough to me and would practically be eating my chin. And how he would just curl up in my arms and gaze up at me. The past two months he has really come alive. He loves his sister, even though she sometimes makes him cry, and he really loves mommy and daddy!

Don't get me wrong, I love this smile too, (Let's remember that Lila is in the "No, Mommy" stage right now!)

but there is something about this gummy grin that thinks mommy can do no wrong that just gets me.

Happy Valentine's Day

Boy, have we had a rough week of LOVE! Lila started running a fever Tuesday night, so I took her to the Dr. and yep...ear infection. They put her on antibiotics. She did not sleep well and was up multiple times during the night. I felt like she was not getting any better, but she had only had 2 doses of medicine. When she woke up from her nap Thursday, her eyes were totally swollen. I started freaking out, as I was afraid it was an allergic reaction to the medicine. I called the Dr., but they thought it was just the cold moving to her eyes. That night she was up ALL night and still running a fever. At 1:30 in the morning when her eyes were totally swollen shut I called the triage nurse. Again, she thought it was just the cold and said it would have to run its course. In the meantime, Graham was up several times in the night. Luckily, Michael stayed home with us Friday morning. I went to the grocery store because we were having our friends from Asheville coming in to visit. I was so worried about Lila getting them sick. That afternoon, Lila was STILL running a fever so I knew that something just wasn't quite right. I called the Dr. and again and she said it sounded like the anitbiotic wasn't working! Oh my..I feel like the worst mom in the world. After actually getting antibiotics in her that worked, it was amazing how quickly she felt better. I should have known when she was on the first antibiotic when she was only getting worse that something wasn't right. When I took her in they said that her ear was just on fire. Poor thing. I will say, we saw a new Dr. who I absolutely LOVED! Maybe because she told me how bright Lila was. I mean, who doesn't love to hear that about their child?!? :)
Here is our pitiful little girl:
(Yes, we are still wearing our Christmas PJ's.) Don't judge, they still fit and are cute!

The Kachilo's made it in late Friday night and Lila actually woke up and played with the boys for a while before we made her go back to sleep.
On Saturday the kids played and made Valentine's cookies while we got ready for our date night. We owe a BIG thank you to Keegan who stayed with all four kids while we went out. Graham would not take his bottle or let her put him down without screaming. I think he finally cried himself to sleep!
Here is Carey holding Graham. He is sporting his red socks in honor of Valentine's Day! :)

Here we are at the Predators game. We had a great time! The Preds won after going into overtime and a shoot out! We were happy to spend our LOVE night with some great friends.

We did decide to have our own family celebration on Sunday. Lila was still not feeling well and neither was Graham, (Note: that is why he is MIA from the pictures) but here are my little heartbreakers.

As you can see, Lila wasn't much in the Valentine's spirit at first. She finally mustered up a smile for us.

Happy Valentine's Day all!

Is that a THUMB I see?

Why yes it is!

HELP! Graham has discovered his thumb. Actually, my friend Susan told me the second day of his life that he was a thumb sucker. I thought there was NO WAY. Well, the other night he woke up and started to stir. By the time I got into his room, he had found his thumb and plopped it right into his mouth and was going to town sucking on it. He went right back to sleep. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Should I just let him do it or replace it with the paci? I can take a paci away, but not the thumb!

Bathing Beauties

This was Graham and Lila's first bath together. Graham isn't too sure what to think about it, but Lila loved it! She loved taking her cup and pouring water on Graham. She also enjoyed splashing splashing splashing, which he didn't like so much! :)

Just a glimspe...

I wish you all could see what I wake up to each morning. Every day is a
gift. Here is a glimpse of the little blessings we have been given.
