A Post of Pictures

We really did, I promise. We really did celebrate Easter around here this year.
I'll just let the pictures do the talkin'.

We dyed Easter Eggs....
Note: I have plenty of pictures, but none of the final product! :) My egg dying skills were lacking this year. Graham was there too, I promise. He was just asleep during most of it.

And we hunted and hunted Easter Eggs!

I couldn't believe how well Lila understood the concept of picking up the egg and putting it in the basket. She loved it! She even swiped several from her cousins baskets when they weren't looking. Luckily, she is at the age where it doesn't matter to her if there is anything in them or not.
I am feeling a little guilty that I don't have many pictures of Graham with any Easter eggs, baskets, etc. He wasn't quite sitting alone by himself yet and he isn't too fond of being on his belly. Basically, the boy just likes to be held. :)

Along with celebrating Easter, we have lots of April birthdays to celebrate in my family: My Husband, My Mom, My Dad, My Brother -in law (both of them if you count David's early May birthday), My father in law, both my grandmothers, 2 nieces, and 1 nephew. I also have several cousins in April, but I can't keep up with that.
Here is wishing Rileigh and my dad a Happy Birthday today!

We got to celebrate the big #3 for this little boy:

Ok, back to my post: Basically, once again, it was go, go, go in Morristown. We actually got to see every member of our immediate family, so that was nice to have everyone in. The kids had a great time! Lila didn't stop the whole time we were home. She also made me look as though I have absolutely no control of my children. :) Kids sure are good at that, aren't they? I think I actually caught a few members of my family secretly snickering. I just knew they were thinking... what goes around, comes around.

Lila thought it would be fun to bring all of her bunnies to her brother. He doesn't seem to mind.

Lila really enjoyed going through both hers AND Graham's Easter baskets.
I, of course, loved getting them all dolled up for Easter Sunday.
Here are some last pictures of my babies and our family to top off this lengthy post!

Even with all the hoopla, we still remember what this holiday is all about.
HE IS RISEN!

Where is daddy going?

We have been preparing for daddy's mission trip around here.
(Why is it they never perform for the camera like they do around the house?)

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Lila loves this song. She even has a bath towel with bunny ears and she will pretend she is a "bunny rabbit."
So of course we took the kids to see the Easter Bunny!
Lila kept running up to the stage to see him and even tried to cut line by climbing on up.
YES, she loves to talk about the bunny rabbit, but boy she changed her tune when it came time to sit on his lap.

Graham is looking at her like she is crazy.
He thinks the Easter Bunny's lap is pretty cozy.

Luckily, ole EB was up for holding "two babies". Aren't Graham and "baby Jenna" cute?

Graham is going to kill me one day for putting these ears on him.

Monthday #22

My little spitfire is 22 months old! Once again, I just can't believe it! That means in 2 months she will be 2!!!!! THAT is what I really can't believe. It makes me want to cry. She is growing so fast. There isn't a day that goes by that Michael and I don't look at each other and comment on what a big girl she is now. As she has since the day she is born, she does something new everyday, and I love it. I can't keep up, but here are a few things I don't want to forget during her 21st month.
1. Everything is..."Right there." (Pronounced they-err.) I.E. "I see animal cookies...RIGHT THERE." This was after I told her they were all gone and she spotted her friend eating them.
2. She can sings her ABC's! Even the LMNOP part and the verses!
3. She counts to 11 minus number 8.
4. Every day she looks for "Daddy's truck." Also, every truck on the road is "Daddy's truck."
5. She likes to count the cars driving by. Usually it goes like this, "One, two cars. One, two, cars." Over and Over.
6. She use to say that she wanted her blankie, paci, milk, whatever it may be. It has now turned into "I NEED it." "I need blankie/paci/etc." I think this one is my fault because I take her paci out of her mouth often and say, "You don't need that paci." Well, she obviously thinks otherwise. Boy, am I in trouble!
7. I can no longer do anything for this child. Even if it is something she cannot do, such has put on her shoes, she still insists, "No no I do it!" I can't even read to her anymore. She likes for me to sit beside her and she will get me a book to read while she reads another. "No, No, it's mine" is also heard quite often at our house. That one drives me crazy!
8. We went to zoo for the 2nd time. She talked about "monkeys, 1-2 Elfants (that's how many we saw),and g-raffs" the rest of the day. She liked how the giraffes were eating and their "LOOONG Necks."
9. She likes to sing Twinkle Twinkle little star.
10. She LOVES skidamirinky dinky dink if you didn't catch the video I posted. She carries her baby around, which has to be facing outwards, and sings this song. The "I WUV YOU" part is not in tune, but it sure is cute.
11. All of the sudden she went from scooting down the steps on her bottom to just walking down them. This was one of those "She is such a big girl" moments.
12. Speaking of steps, she insists on walking up and down them herself to and from the car. This is actually a big help, except when I am running late, or it is cold, or she just takes off towards the backyard to go "pay outside."
13. When she talks now about multiple things, she says, "and a" instead of just "and." It is actually very cute.
14. She smacks her leg like calling for a dog and says, "Come on Daddy/Mommy/Chloe/Etc."
15. She also gets frustrated at other cars with me while driving. (This is not good, I know.) If I brake quickly, she will either say, "Woah!" or "Come on Cars!" Again, this an example of how kids pick up on everything we say.
16. In order to keep Lila from asking me to put on one of her songs, I will turn on the radio or a CD that I want to listen to and say…”Ooh, this is a good song!”
Well, one night, Lila turned on my Ipod and said, “Good Song!” So now each time a song comes on that is what she says.
16. Anytime we go anywhere now, Lila says, “This Way.” Whether it be walking around the house, pushing the stroller in the neighborhood, and she even knows the way we usually turn out of our neighborhood. The other day we went into Columbia, so we turned a way we don't go an a regular basis and she was very confused. She kept pointing to the right saying, "Go, this way."
17. When walking in our neighborhood we either go in the directions towards, "Leah's house" or to "Coben's House." She also calls our neighbor Miss Suzanne, "Miss Susie Anne."
18. She is getting better with her shapes. The other day she busted out with "Oval."
19. Some days I swear she knows her colors. Like today when doing laundry she pointed to her hamper and said, "It's pink" and then pointed to Graham's and said "It's blue." Other days, I am not convinced. Lately, everything has been "geen."
20. She has learned to get on our bed by herself. She also likes to jump off of it backwards. I, on the other hand don't like that too much, but she thinks it is funny and says, "Again!"
21. Every morning while eating breakfast she looks out the window and asks if I "hear it?" She is referring to the birds and to the "choo choo train."
22. After we do anything now, she looks at me and asks, "It's fun?" Now that she says this, I find that I ask her a lot while we are playing if she had fun.

Here is my little girl. She sure is sweet, but only when she wants to be!

Check out her new ride.

She has to make sure that everything is AOK.

Who's that?

Me: Lila, who is that?
Lila: hehehe...Santa Claus?
Me asking very perplexed:WHO?!?
Lila (very matter of fact): It's Santa Claus.
Me: Lila, who is that?
Lila: giggle giggle giggle, Santa Claus.

I don't know folks. What do you think? Does this picture resemble Santa Claus?

Silly girl!

UPDATE:
After posting this, I viewed my blog and when this picture came up, Lila again said...SANTA CLAUS!

WHOLE FOODS

I have decided to start making G man's cereal. I dabbled in making Lila's baby food, but I want to expand by making the Super Baby Porridge from the book, Super Baby food. That meant a trip to the Whole Foods store for me. I really wanted to head up to Trader Joe's, but time did not permit today.
Anyway, the point is...I felt utterly and completely lost as soon as I walked in. Let me say that I have actually been in Wild Oats before, but I would go straight to the fresh pineapple and back out.

This time was different. From the moment I stepped foot in the store, I felt lost. I didn't even know how to work the grocery carts. (They actually have carts for the little carrying baskets.)

So, I ventured over to the aisle with all the oats and grains. Luckily it was right in front of me as I walked in. Oh my....here comes the anxiety. I started to feel like I did the first time Michael and I made a special 50 minute trip up to Babysrus to do our baby register. As soon as I walked in and over to the aisle filled with nipples, bottles, storage bags, etc., I turned around and walked right back out.

Today, I started getting hot and my eyes got all blurry. I didn't even know where to start. I saw bins of legumes, barley, granola, millett, stuff I've never heard of, and oats I don't even know what you do with. There was organic, hulled, aaahhh....I hate this! I am standing there in the middle of the aisle just staring into space as everyone else seemed to be breezing in and out, filling their bags with their oats, and browsing like they actually knew what they were looking for. After frantically looking through each bin and rustling through the pages in my book, I THINK I finally found what I was looking for. I placed my bag under the bin, but then I didn't even know how to get the stupid grains to come out! PLEASE get me out of here! I eventually figured out how to get the grains in the bag. I actually even noticed a sign that says to write down the number of the bin on the tie you use for your bag. (If you know me, I don't pay a lot of attention to most signs, so this in itself was a miracle.)
I did actually browse around for a few minutes before checking out. I go to check out and the lady rings me up. My total comes up to some outrageous number. Come to find out, that little number that I was so proud of myself for writing down on the tie was written smack dab in the middle of the tie, so it ended up folding around the bag and was no longer legible. Therefore, the lady typed in the wrong number. Geez. Can I do anything right in this store? So, that was my adventure to Whole Foods. I only had to ask for help ONE time. In my book, that is pretty good.
The crazy thing is, although I was stressed to the max in there, I can't wait to go back!

Just a glimspe...

I wish you all could see what I wake up to each morning. Every day is a
gift. Here is a glimpse of the little blessings we have been given.
