Michael and I had the privilege to attend an 80's murder mystery party hosted by the founder of MAQUANET! (Notice my bottle of it in hand.) I smelled like the East Ridge Middle School girls bathroom from 1989 for days. I had to wash my hair 5 times to get all the stickiness out! I will say, getting those big bangs was like riding a bike. It came back to me so naturally. It was kind of scary! :) We had a great time as everyone was dressed in character and had to play that character all night. That was hard, but fun! Michael was an 80's breakdancer trying to get an agent. I (Talex Towens) was a narcaleptic jazz dancer aspiring to be a breakdancer. Shaggo Goo Oxide (Michael) was not very happy with me at the party because Moe Jontana wanted to get me hooked up with his agent instead of Shaggy.

Baby Dedications

We had our baby dedication at church on Sunday March 9th. It was a wonderful service with a total of 18 kids being dedicated. The sounds of cries, squeals, and giggles filled the room and it was beautiful! Lila was an angel, even though the poor boy beside us didn't think so when she snatched his box of raisins right out of his hand. My mother did an amazing job on Lila's dress, which she made from the material of my wedding dress. Thanks Grandmother. You are the best! It was nice to have so many friends and family there even though it was a late night drive for many of them. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

New Additions
Lila is going to be a big sister! We had some pictures made on Valentine's as a way to share our good news. New Baby Harrell is expected to arrive Oct. 4th, 2008! Lot's of prayers please. Some days I think we are crazy. It will be fun though ( as my doctor says everytime we go for a visit and she sees Lila. )Thursday, January 24, 2008
MMM???
Well, well...I am really writing my first blog. Lila is in bed and Michael is out of town, and of course I am up late avoiding going to bed alone, so what am I doing? Starting a new project of course! I am not really sure how I feel about it, but here it goes. I enjoy reading other peoples blogs, but I never thought that I would actually have one. I ask myself, am I being one of those annoying mothers who only likes to talk about my child and how wonderful she is? It is arrogant that I am blogging about myself? I don't think those things about other people and their blogs, but for some reason when it is your own you feel differently. Anyway, to the point of why I am starting this. Considering I have many friends and family out of town, I thought this would be a great way of keeping them all up to date on our lives here and how little Lila is growing like a weed. I have tried the tot/baby sites, but I don't do a very good job of keeping up with it and changing out my pictures ( you can only have so many) so, we will see how I do on this one. Also, I have heard that some people have their blogs bound into a book at the end of each year. Since I am not a scrapbooker, this may be the best way to journal Lila's journeys. I am kind of nervous about sharing it with everyone. But hey, those that know me know I am a big ole goober anyway, so they wouldn't expect anything less! :) ENJOY!
