My Little Boy

I was doing laundry this afternoon and pulling out some of Lila's clothes that she can no longer wear. I get sad every time I do this. Of course I want her to grow up and be strong and healthy and I am so proud of her, but at the same time....well, don't we all just want them to stay little? I told Michael last night that this time last August she was just 2 months old. It is truly amazing how much they develop in such a short amount of time. What is even more amazing is that in 2months from now another little one will enter in our lives! As I am looking through Lila's clothes, I couldn't help but think that I really hope I have another girl one day! I can't imagine her being my only one. Then, I started to think about this other baby inside me. My sweet baby boy. I have been nervous about what to do with a little boy, but I think we will catch on pretty fast. Looking at this face, I think all I need to do is love him. I can't wait to meet him. (Actually, I can. I need all the time I can get to prepare!) You know what I mean though. The miracle of life in itself is a blessing and I can't wait to have my own momma's boy!

We went last week to have a 4D ultrasound done of him. These actually sometimes freak me out a little bit.:) This kicking king decided to take a big ole snooze right after lunch and didn't want to perform. Oh well, that is ok. We at least got a sweet shot of his face. To be honest, the shot he preferred to give us the most was of his cute little tooshy, but I will spare you those photos!

Here he is at 31 1/2 weeks! Still no name. Any suggestions?!?!

Here is the fam after the U/S.

Lila likes to give her brother a kiss. Can you tell I am a little shocked here?

Wordless Wednesday...Pool Style!

Oops, it's Tuesday! Oh well. This is actually from 2 Sundays ago!

Learning to Walk

Lila loves to put on her shoes and take off walking. She gets this look on her face that says, "I am a Big Girl!" She is doing SO well and improves every day. I feel like even over the weekend she has really learned to get up and go! She has hardly crawled at all this week, which actually makes me a little sad. I think I am going to miss that little fast paced, wiggly bottom crawl of hers. She crawls with some major force. She has been doing it for almost 6 months, so she is pretty good at it! This picture was actually taken July 30th, but it is too cute to not post!

1 Year Debut

Yes, I know, she is 14 months, but here are Lila's 1 year pictures I never posted. The pictures in the dress at the end is my grandmother's dress. All of the girls have had their picture taken in it, so it is very special. I can't believe these were taken almost 2 months ago. My, how she has grown(and gotten a little more hair.)! In addition to these, we got some REALLY cute ones from Portrait Innovations that I will post when I find the CD! :)

What is it about....

these old, worn out, handme down shoes that brings out my daughters bad temper? Last week, I put these shoes on her. She loved them and has really taken off with her walking while having shoes on. Anyway, the left shoe kept coming off. I had to put it back on like 5 times when I decided I would just take both of them off until we were ready to leave. I was trying to finish getting ready and could be done in about 5 minutes if I didn't have to keep stopping to put her shoe back on. I took both of them off and boy did she pitch a fit! She actually threw both of the shoes down on the ground and then proceeded to throw herself on the floor and scream. I was really taken aback by this outburst that I didn't know what to do. I just walked away into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I decided that ignoring her was the only thing I could do at that time. The next thing I know, she is crawling towards me as fast as she can with a shoe in her hand and then stands at my feet handing it to me. As soon as I get the shoes on her, she is fine. Unbelievable! I am seriously going to have to start hiding them because again on Thursday she found them and started screaming. She throws such a tantrum that it would make you think she was scared of the shoes and wanted nothing to do with them, but it is all because she wants them on and wants them on NOW. ...even if it is over her footed pajamas! I don't like this little attitude that she is displaying, but I can't help but find it a little humorous. If this is any indication of how it is going to be, then I am not looking forward to the days when she is strongly opinionated about what she wears. Lord help me!

Yes, I am sure, I am just having ONE!!

If you see me...no, I am not having twins, and no, I am not due any day. I still have 2 months left! I don't know what it is, but everyone keeps asking me if I am having twins or if I only have a few days left. I did get this with Lila, but not until like the last 3 weeks. Oh, the stories I have with her from people. This time, it actually started the 4th of July weekend when I was only 27 weeks. A lady, who knew I was not due until Oct. said to me, "I am not trying to be rude, but are you sure you aren't having twins? You are really big for how far along you are!!!!" I about died. Then, let's see if I can even remember all the comments I have received. A lady at the airport in Alaska said something to the effect of me about to pop, as well as a man in my office. A lady Michael works with asked me if I was having twins the same day someone else said I was due anyday. Just last night, 1 man said, "Were you not due to have that baby yesterday?" and five minutes later another guy said I was due anytime. It is mostly strangers who ask me if I am having twins. Just tonight as I am up on the swingset with Lila, my neighbor came over and asked if I knew there was a weight limit on it! I guess I am just going to have to quit eating my bowl of ice cream everynight. Actually, I think it mainly has to do with what I wear. I have been in a lot of dresses this summer because it has been so hot, and I think they make me look bigger. That's my story and I am sticking to it! Above I am at 30 weeks. Here I am at 31 weeks. See, I am not that big.

HELYO!

As I am sure most all babies do, Lila loves the phone. I just recently got a new phone. I was kind of excited because she loved my old phone so much I thought I would just be able to give it to her and she would no longer try to jerk mine out of my hand while talking. Nope, didn't work. Those little ones know better, don't they? There is no fooling them. Here is my little chatterbox. Considering I average 4000 minutes a month on the phone, I would be worried if she didn't know how to use one! :) She use to just say "Hi, Hi" all the time, but now she likes to actually say Hello (Helyo). She also can tell when I am about to get off the phone because before I even say goodbye, she starts saying, "Bye Bye." I guess when she hears me say, "Ok, I will talk to you later, yada yada yada yada" she knows I am about to hang up so she starts saying bye bye. I love it!
I love this face!

Just a glimspe...

I wish you all could see what I wake up to each morning. Every day is a
gift. Here is a glimpse of the little blessings we have been given.
